The very first step, I started out with the inner rim. Detect it on your reference picture. Make sure the proportion is good enough. I sketched it lightly with HB pencil.
Sketch it lightly, so you don't damage the paper. Erase any edgely lines on the rim, keep it all in curve.
My proportion of the inner rim might change as I make further progress. The inner rim should be proportional to the tire.

The purpose of this tutorial is to help people who wants to draw rims better. I noticed many people has problems drawing rim. A realistic rim drawing is essential for the realism of the whole car. Sometimes it is frustrating if the rim doesn't look right. If you would like to draw realistic rim, you have to spend time and put effort and time into it. 1. Don't be afraid of drawing rims. Believe in yourself.
2. Take your time. Don't get frustrated.
3. Observe where the darkest and lightest tone.
4. If you messed up, it's always fixable.
